Just launched for November 2009 and the release of his newest book, “The Faith Instinct”, I am proud to have taken part in Nicholas Wade’s new website.  Nicholas Wade for those that don’t know is a science writer and journalist for the New York Times.  Nicholas and I talked about the marketing strategies being employed for his new book back in the summer and he contacted me to move forward with our plans only a month ago.  We had an interesting challenge as aside from his articles and book listings there is almost no web presence for Nicholas.  So, my job was to give Nicholas a web home that:

• reflects his good taste and clarity
• introduces visitors to his newest book
• gives visitors a little more information about Nicholas
• reminds visitors of his previous book, “Before the Dawn”
• and most of all, offers a way  for visitors to purchase the book

I chose the WordPress publishing platform and the Cordobo Green Park 2 theme as a starting point for the site.  Being that we only had about 3 weeks to launch the site I didn’t want to mess around with a from scratch theme, so I opted to customize Andreas Jacob’s super clean and pretty Cordobo Green Park 2 to show Nicholas’s favorite colors.   The rest of the work was fairly straightforward, we have a static home page, static pages for his media appearances, both books and a blog page where Nicholas can interact with his readers and fans.

It was a real pleasure working with Nicholas and I think his book will be another hit.  Quite a topic too:

“The Faith Instinct presents a novel approach to religion. It explores the evolutionary origins of religious behavior in early humans, and traces the cultural development of religion from its origins up until to the present day.

The book does not challenge the central belief of either atheists or people of faith, since it offers no opinion as to whether or not God exists. It’s about religious behavior and its value to the first human societies and their successors.”
